The Autobiographical Memory Test is a widely used measure of memory specificity. Its psychometric properties were examined in a large Japanese sample. We replicated a uni-factorial structure and correlations with depressive symptoms. We found a significant declining trend as a function of age. This reduces the association between memory specificity and depression in elderly.
