We studied the largest German prostate cancer online support group. Of all participating patients, 29% revised their initial treatment decision. These patients more frequently chose radiation therapy and active surveillance. This phenomenon might affect 17,000 patients with prostate cancer in the United States of America yearly. Patient counseling should adapt accordingly.
