The auditory cortical oscillatory activity is disrupted in untreated schizophrenia. This disruption is detectable in the 30–50 0;Hz and 90–100 0;Hz ranges. The disruption in the 30–50 0;Hz range is not present in the patients treated with atypical antipsychotic drugs.
