A recombinant CCD4 from Osmanthus fragrans was produced by E. coli under different bacterial growth conditions. β-ionone was analyzed by HPLC and OfCCD4 activity was measured based on concentration change of β-ionone. The importance of oxygen carriers and surfactants in the reaction mixture to enhance the OfCCD4 enzyme activity was also detected.
