Decreased proteasomal activities have been connected to Parkinson’s disease. Lactacystin increased alpha-synuclein aggregation in a cell culture. Prolyl oligopeptidase inhibition by KYP-2047 attenuated lactacystin toxicity. KYP-2047 decreased alpha-synuclein oligomers and enhanced autophagy.
