Cryogenic effects in abrasive water jet cut surfaces were investigated.

Oblique jet impingement angles were found to be favourable for the better cut surfaces.

Wear tracks, ploughing effects and particle contaminations were reduced substantially.

Surface compressive residual stress and hardness were increased.

Surface integrity tests showed that the cryogenic assisted cutting produce a satisfactory surface condition.
