A causal Stroh formalism is derived from the elastodynamic Green’s function. Fields of uniformly-moving Eshelby dislocations in anisotropic media are given. The obtained causal expressions hold for any velocity, accounting for Mach cones. A general explanation of atypical ‘backward’ Mach cones is deduced.
