Potential transplant recipients with high PRA face prolonged waiting periods on transplant lists. Recently Tyan et al., have shown that intravenous treatment with pooled human globulin (IVIG) can reduce anti HLA antibody titers allowing successful transplantation. They have also shown that IG can reduce anti HLA titers in vitro.
