Images generated by a novel algorithm convey slant from stereo, not pictorial, cues. Psychophysical tests confirm that image slant is not detected from non-stereo cues. Dense, fractal-like edge content supports stereo-based depth & slant perception. Perceivable edge content (high-freq. statistics) appears invariant to scale & tilt. Texture gradient information is suppressed by perturbation of low frequency content.
