Rigorous simulation of variable permeability membrane gas separations. Process selectivity depends on absolute up and down pressure and not on pressure difference. Significant impact of variable permeability on required membrane surface area. No possibility to define effective permeability concept when permeability varies. Solution diffusion parameters required for a rigorous computation.
