A detailed overview on BCP concept, synthesis and characterizations is provided. Controversies in literature on optimum composition ratio of BCP (HA/TCP) is discussed The absence of standardized study protocols in biomaterial research is discussed. Standardized protocols reduce the discrepancies among the study findings. Recommendations for standardization of study protocols have been provided.
