Phospholipids play central roles in diverse mitochondrial functions.Phospholipids affect activity and stability of respiratory chain supercomplexes. Mitochondrial protein translocases are closely linked to phospholipid homeostasis. Phospholipids contribute to mitochondrial fusion and fission. Cardiolipin supports the architecture of mitochondrial membranes.
