A phospholipid scramblase gene (DjPLSCR) is isolated and characterized from planarian D. japonica. mRNAs of DjPLSCR are predominantly expressed in the pharynx of intact adult and regenerating planarians. DjPLSCR may participate in the immune response upon pathogen invasion.
