We generated 19 complete plastomes for Burmeistera and allied genera. The phylogenetic relationships of Burmeistera are better understood. Combined use of complete plastomes and targeted loci extends taxonomic coverage. Character evolution is dynamic, but three traits may aid future reclassification.
