In Israel, there are many barriers to effective incorporation of LCA process and outputs into land-use planning. One of the main challenge is the language barrier since, all the key documents in the field are not written in the native language. LCA has a controversial reliability and LCA-based plans are frequently violated. A standardized, credible and legally binding LCA-based planning guide in Hebrew is needed. A national free-access online information center for LCA should be established. Institutional capacity for LCA-based land management should be strengthened.
