Aromatic polycations serve to control the aggregation of the dye in solution. Colloidal suspensions containing dye-polycation complexes are obtained. Chitosan-chondroitin sulfate aerogels containing the dye have been synthesized. Aromatic polycations produce homogeneous dispersion of the dye in the aerogels. The dye keeps the same aggregation state in solution and in the aerogels.
