DFs are defined based on their compositions, analyses, and physiological activity. Inclusion of oligosaccharide with degree of polymerization (DP 3–9) as part of DF. Resistant starch can be classified as DF in terms of structure and digestibility. Not all DFs have the same effects; it depends on their solubility, types, and dosage.
