A strong and stable red irradiation at 634 nm could be stimulated electrochemically on zinc porphyrin-based electrode in aqueous media.

ECL measurements, CV and SWV were innovatively performed to investigate the ECL mechanism.

The intermediate anion of zinc porphyrin (Zn+) via successive electrochemical reduction could oxidize O2 to 1O2, generating the ECL signals.
