Two regions are identified with rocky surfaces on slopes of preferred orientations. Impact melts and veneers are prevalent throughout the Tycho antipode region. The region on the lunar nearside is dominated by rock fields and granular flows. The deposits in both regions likely originated as ejecta from the Tycho impact event. Distant impacts can modify large swaths of the lunar surface in a variety of ways.
