Facile preparation of nanoflake-structured nickel oxide/carbon nanotube composite films by electrophoretic deposition as binder-free electrodes for high-performance pseudocapacitors

α-Ni(OH)2 nanoflakes were prepared via a simple chemical precipitation method. Binder-free NiO-CNT electrode was fabricated by electrophoretic co-deposition. NiO-CNT electrode exhibited a porous structure with uniform distribution of CNTs. The effect of TEA and CNT additives on the kinetics of EPD was studied. NiO-CNT electrode showed better pseudocapacitive performance than NiO electrode.
