Water-soluble photocrosslinkable methacrylated carboxymethyl chitin was synthesized. In-situ photocrosslinked hydrogel had tunable degradation and mechanical properties. Me-CMCH hydrogel showed improved strength than thermosensitive CMCH physical gel. Me-CMCH hydrogel is a candidate material for bioapplications due to the nontoxicity.
