Existence of petrogenetic distinction between adakites and high-Sr/Y potassic rocks. Indian crust input is restricted to adakitic magmatism in southern Lhasa subterrane. Mantle-derived ultrapotassic melts have genetic links with potassic volcanic rocks. Magmatic differentiation contributed to high K2O contents in potassic and adakitic rocks.
