Synthesis, spectroscopic properties and photodynamic activity of two cationic BODIPY derivatives with application in the photoinactivation of microorganisms
Cationic BODIPYs derivatives were synthesized as photodynamic agents. BODIPYs show low singlet molecular oxygen production. A contribution of type I photoprocess was involved in the decomposition of l-tryptophan. The addition of KI produced an increase in the photoinduced decomposition of Trp.
