Novel hierarchical core/shell structured PDA@MgAl-LDHs were prepared. PDA@MgAl-LDHs exhibited higher sorption ability for U(VI) and Eu(III). PDA@MgAl-LDHs were promising materials for the enrichment of radionuclides.
