Accelerated photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutant over metal-organic framework MIL-53(Fe) under visible LED light mediated by persulfate

A visible-light-responsive metal-organic framework MIL-53(Fe) was synthesized.

LED lamps emitting white light were utilized as excitation light source.

The introduction of PS effectively suppressed the recombination of charge carriers.

The formed SO4radical dot and radical dotOH radicals accelerated the photocatalytic degradation of AO7.

MIL-53(Fe) showed good reusability and high stability at near-neutral pH.
