Hydrogen production from catalytic steam reforming of benzene as tar model compound of biomass gasification

A NiO/ceramic foam catalyst was developed for catalytic steam reforming of tar.

From 700 to 900 °C, the yield of H2 increased from 140.67 to 182.06 g kg− 1.

The catalytic activity of the catalyst can be regained after regeneration process.

A kinetic model study shows that the apparent activation energy is 73.38 kJ/mol.
