We present a simple procedure for developing targeted Martian regolith simulants. A regolith simulant for the Columbia Hills, Gusev Crater was produced. Simulant mineralogical and chemical characteristics match those of the Gusev Crater. Volcanic simulant material was sourced from the Banks Peninsula New Zealand.
