Effect of Potamogeton crispus L. on bioavailability and biodegradation activity of pyrene in aged and unaged sediments

Removal of pyrene from aged and unaged sediments was quantitatively studied. P. crispus more greatly improved pyrene degradation in aged sediments. Biodegradation of sorbed pyrene was found by model fitting. Degradation enhancement by P. crispus was mainly due to the increase of kr. Planting more greatly enhanced fr and kr in aged sediment than in unaged sediment.
