Bound PAH residues in soil are phytoavailable and absorbed by ryegrass. Bound PAH residues transfer into extractable fractions in vegetated soils. Root exudates enhanced the release of bound PAH residues in soil. Bound residues cannot be recognized as the final endpoint of PAH phytoavailability in soil.
