The solution structure of a plant β-galactosidase C-terminal domain was determined.
The structure consists of a 2-stranded and a 3-standed β-sheet and an α-helix.
Four disulfides stabilize the loops, except for the first long flexible loop.
No sugar binding was detected, suggesting other functions for the C-terminal domain.
