We proposed a novel energy efficient film based on one-dimensional photonic band gap structures. The film displays high transmittance in the visible range, but low transmittance in the range of ultraviolet and infrared. The structure can simultaneously satisfy the demands of lighting and heat insulating as energy efficient window film.
