Hydrothermal synthesis of α-Zn2SiO4:V phosphor, determination of oxidation states and structural localization of vanadium ions

Zn2SiO4:V with willemite structure was produced by hydrothermal method. The part of vanadium is present in the form of isolated V5+, V4+ and V3+ ions. The main amount of vanadium is united in areas containing V5+, V4+ and V3+ ions. V4+ ions and V5+ ions with high probability occupy silicon positions in the lattice.
