The cascaded hybrid sensible/thermochemical (TCS) heat storage concept was tested.

Co3O4- and Mn2O3–coated cordierite honeycomb and foam cascades were employed.

TCS capability of Co3O4 manifested as heat storage/release at constant temperature.

Additive effect of thermochemical on sensible storage proved for Co3O4/CoO pair.

CoO and Mn3O4 oxidations in complementary temperature ranges during cycling.
