CuInSe2nanocrystalline semiconductor particles were prepared by mechanochemical synthesis up to 60 min.

The crystallite size 30.5 nm was achieved.

The synthesized material has a tetragonal body-centred crystalline structure.

The band gap of the nanocrystalline CuInSe2 was determined as 1.8 eV.

CuInSe2 nanoparticles are promising candidates for optical applications.
