Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of dye-sensitized solar cells with different electrode geometry

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) with active area of different geometry were fabricated. The cells were studied with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). There is a strong correlation between Ohmic resistance and geometry of the active area. The Ohmic resistance is the major contributor to series resistance of DSSCs. The series resistance causes potential drops that ultimately affects cell performance.
