Physico-chemical and microstructural properties of fish gelatin/agar bio-based blend films

Bio-based blend films based on fish gelatin and agar were prepared. Addition of agar resulted in more resistant films, with a decrease in WVP. Surface hydrophilicity of the films decreased with the incorporation of agar. SEM and AFM images demonstrated the good compatibility of the both polymers. Fish gelatin-agar composite films can act as a biodegradable packaging film.
