We present a numerical model dealing with the hydrodynamic responses for Oscillating Water Column caisson breakwaters. The relationship among energy transition of OWC and the forces, base moment acted on the caisson breakwaters is presented. We present the relationship between the hydrodynamic energy efficiency, average air energy power and the wave length ratio. We suggest the average air energy power can be used to evaluate the optimal range for wave energy capture. We proposed an optimal design concept of OWC caisson breakwaters considered average air energy power and loading conditions.
