Tunable crack propagation behavior in carbon fiber reinforced plastic laminates with polydopamine and graphene oxide treated fibers

A surface treating method was conducted to modify the fracture behavior of CFRPs. Polydopamine and graphene oxide coatings on fibers tuned the crack propagation from unstable to stable manner in CFRPs. Dual coating layers on fibers are beneficial in enhancing load transfer ability and dissipating more energy in CFRPs.
