In this study, we developed a method for simultaneous detection of eight animal species using a pair of universal primer, including goat, sheep, deer, buffalo, cattle, yak, pig and camel. This assay is a specific, sensitive and reliable method in the identification of multiple animal species. This proposed method was relatively simple and rapid and not required expensive equipment and could be performed in most laboratories. It was a practical approach for routine analysis to determine fraudulent and/or mislabeled substitution in meat products.
