A sector field ICP-MS method of hair analysis was optimised. 18 trace elements were determined in 166 hair samples of school children. Two groups of school children of Leningradskaya Oblast’ were assessed. Elevated metal exposure was found in the group, residing near waste disposal grounds. Unstable environmental status of the region was indicated.
