Despite similar deprivation levels, suicide is much higher in Glasgow than Liverpool. We investigate other authors' speculation that religion may play a role. More Liverpool residents describe themselves as Catholic than in Glasgow. Greatest differences are in comparison of most deprived neighbourhoods.
