Frequency and time pattern differences in acoustic signals produced by Prostephanus truncatus (Horn) (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae) and Sitophilus zeamais (Motschulsky) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in stored maize
Sound impulses produced by Prostephanus truncatus and Sitophilus zeamais were investigated. To the best of our knowledge, no past research has been conducted on the acoustic detection of these pests. The bursts and impulses of the larvae and adults of P. truncatus and S. zeamais were significantly different.
