Citrobacter amalonaticus Y19 is the only Enterobacter known till date to oxidize toxic carbon monoxide.

It is capable of performing efficient CO-dependent hydrogen production.

Sequenced de novo by employing Pacbio SRMT method.

It has a genome size of 5.58 Mb with a mega plasmid of 291 Kb.

It has immense capability to produce important biofuels and biochemical.
