In beamformer, speech enhancement effectiveness depends on microphone configurations. Microphone configuration design is a nonlinear/non-convex NP-hard problem. Taguchi method is a robust/systematic approach to design reliable/high-quality models. We study the effectiveness of Taguchi method to determine microphone configuration. Taguchi method is effective to design configurations with short development time.
