Effect of Silybum marianum herb on the productive performance, carcass traits and meat quality of growing rabbits

Silybum marianum dietary supplementation to growing rabbits was tested. Rabbits mortality was lowered by the highest inclusion level of Silybum marianum. Carcass traits, colour and oxidative status of meat were unaffected by treatments. Silybum marianum changed the sensory characteristics of rabbit loin. The antioxidant activity of Silybum marianum was not confirmed by this study.
