Dual substitution at 4,9-positions of carbazole in donor-π-acceptor copolymer enhances performance of bulk-heterojunction organic solar cells

Carbazole based D-π-A narrow bandgap copolymers were newly synthesized. 4,9-Disubstituents at the carbazole unit can arbitrarily be chosen to control and modify solubility and crystallinity of the copolymers. Substitutions on both sides of polymer backbone enhance the BHJ photovoltaic performance of the copolymer-PC70BM.
