Increased cytokine expression is a prominent finding in ALS. A cytokine analysis in ALS using a pathway-based statistical method is proposed. This method allows identification of changes in the whole network of cytokines. The model is aimed at understanding the changing cytokine milieu in ALS. Interactions between cytokines are highly variable through ALS progression.
