A practical approach for predicting retention time shifts due to pressure and temperature gradients in ultra-high-pressure liquid chromatography

Pressure and temperature gradients in UHPLC can cause selectivity shifts. An empirical, easy-to-use approach for predicting these shifts was developed. The approach requires few experiments and has straightforward calculations. Validation showed that retention times were predicted with relative errors <1%. Selectivity shifts in quality control for omeprazole was accurately predicted.
