We studied the degradation of PET polymeric material under reactor neutron environment.
Optical and structural properties are progressively destroyed after irradiation.
The band gap decreases linearly with the fast neutron fluence.
The crystallinity is drastically reduced after irradiation to fast neutron fluence of 2.0×1016 n/cm2.
A linear relationship between the FTIR absorption band intensity and fast neutron fluence is observed.
