Endocannabinoids are involved in adolescent brain maturation. Endocannabinoids regulate plasticity through GABA and glutamate mechanisms. Exogenous cannabinoids alter the development of cortex. Exogenous cannabinoids may be associated with abnormal cognition, emotional regulation and substance abuse.
